Nutrition

Food and nutrients explained without the hype — what the evidence reasonably supports, and how to read a wellness claim before you act on it.

What this hub covers

Nutrition is the area where wellness marketing is loudest and least restrained. A single ingredient gets credited with transforming energy, joints, sleep and mood, usually on the strength of one small study read generously.

This hub takes the opposite approach: explain what a nutrient does, describe what the evidence can reasonably support, and be clear about where it runs out. We cover general nutrition education only. We do not design diets, recommend restriction, or offer guidance for managing a medical condition — those belong with a registered dietitian or your doctor.

Questions this hub is being built to answer

  • What common nutrients do, in plain language and without overstating the case.
  • How to read a supplement label and an ingredient list properly.
  • Why “clinically proven” on packaging often means very little.
  • Where whole foods and supplements genuinely differ.
  • How to judge whether a nutrition claim is specific enough to be checkable.
  • Which questions are worth taking to a qualified professional instead.
